The Oasis was a seven-month discipleship program dedicated to helping men transition into productive lives with a Gospel-centered focus. We welcomed individuals emerging from prison, jail, rehabilitation, or homelessness to join our community.
The program comprised three phases. In the first phase, lasting sixty days, the primary objective was to encourage the men to seek the Lord through mentoring, fellowship, daily Bible studies, evening classes, community outreach, and moreāall while working closely with the Forgotten Ministries staff. During this phase, the men also had the opportunity to participate in a work crew, where they learned essential routines, job skills, work ethic, and the significance of working as if they were serving the Lord.
Once the men had established a solid foundation in Christ, they progressed to the second phase. Here, they actively sought full-time employment with approved employers, learning to budget their earnings to pay off debt, cover program fees, and begin saving for life after graduation.
